» What is Maple Syrup? «
Maple syrup is a syrup usually made from the xylem sap of sugar maple trees. Maple syrup is widely used as an ingredient, a sweetener or flavoring agent in bakery, confectionary and western cuisine. It’s often eaten with pancakes, French toast, waffles, oatmeal, porridge or beverage.
» What's the function of caramel color in maple-flavored syrup? «
Natural maple syrup may vary from each batch during mass production process. The main purpose of using caramel color is to enhance the attractive color of maple-flavored syrup, homogenize the color during production and give final product the similar appealing color as the pure maple syrup. AIPU FOOD caramel color can be added to maple-flavored syrup to let the product reach the exact target color or get more appealing and uniform color.
» Technical tips «
Generally, we suggest using caramel color with appropriate red and yellow index in maple-flavored syrup to reach the target appealing color. Both our CCL-016 and CDL-007 are recommended products for this application. In practice, recommended usage proportion for these two products are: CCL-016 0.15%, CDL-007 0.21%.
Note: Color intensity is based on the absorbance of 0.1% caramel color solution at 610nm optical wavelength.
